How did we get here from there...

No roads lead back to what came before--to the innocence of childhood or the first time we fell in love.
Those words, simple yet oh so profound, are excerpted from Norwegian author Jo Nesbo's article for the NYTimes, "The Past is a Foreign Country" (July 26, 2011)   HE wrote reflectively about the loss of innocence after the Oslo bombing and tragic shootings on Utoya Island.   "The joy of being alive always seems to go hand in hand with the sorrow that things change.  Not even the brightest future can make up for the fact that no roads lead back..."
